Friend Friday – Meet Christopher Haro

Meet my friend Chris Haro (http://www NULL.mightyprettymedia NULL.com). I’ve known him for almost 20 years! He was my student the first summer I taught at Interlochen Arts Camp (http://www NULL.interlochen NULL.org). I was assistant directing Comedy of Errors and teaching Acting Technique and he was in both. I liked him immediately for his kindness, seriousness of purpose and willingness to try anything.

We stayed in touch over the years, but somewhere along the line lost touch for awhile. Nine years after we first met, I was hiking in Runyon Canyon and Chris and his wife, Melanie, appeared. I was giddy. I think I shouted his entire name and gave him a huge hug. I’d never met his wife (who is beautiful and fabulous in her own right and you will hear about her in an upcoming Friend Friday) and I hadn’t seen Chris since the last day of camp. It was total and perfect synchronicity.

It wasn’t long before Andrew and I and Chris and Melanie were spending good time together and collaborating and supporting one another’s various endeavors. I got to direct Chris in Voyage Around My Room, a one man show he created, first translating a short story from Spanish and then adapting, producing and performing it. And Chris produced a play I directed, written and performed by our friend Gonzalo Venecia called Under El Gran Mesquite. Chris also created a whole series of DVD’s for me based on a series of Astrological talks I gave four years ago.

But all this is background. And what you need to know is that Chris is brilliant. He’s one of the most intelligent, talented and kind people I know. His company is called Mighty Pretty Media (http://mightyprettymedia NULL.com) which specializes in online marketing and video production. He’s interested in helping people tell their stories. He knows more about building gorgeous sites, packing them full of meaningful content and getting traffic to them than anyone I know.  His particular love and talent is working with video.

He is a TIRELESS worker and holds an almost impossibly high bar for himself. I’m a hard worker, but I pale in comparison. He works until it’s perfect, until he’s done everything he can do, until he’s done all the research necessary and implemented it.

There are a lot of great videos on his site — talking about his work. But check out this one about what he can do if you’re camera shy:

Oh and he did this video for an author in Austin. It’s a GREAT story — and Chris helps tell it brilliantly.

I consider myself very lucky to have someone like Chris in my life. Anyone out there should LEAP at the opportunity to hire him for a project. Do you need a site? Do you want to dramatically improve your online visibility? Do you need video content? Do you want to tell your story? He’s based out of Austin, Texas — but you know the world these days. He can help you wherever you are.

Big love.
