Every day I have a “To do” list. The moment I wake I start compiling and organizing and preparing and making lists. One day last year I was crinkling my brow and furiously recording everything that HAD TO be completed on that given day when my husband, Andrew Heffernan (http://www NULL.malepatternfitness NULL.com), put this paper in front of me. He’d been scribbling as I was scribbling. But his “To do” list was far more appealing. I let out an audible sigh when I looked at it. And I put aside my list for the day. Now I have the list framed in our back hallway, so I see it whenever I’m hurrying somewhere to do something on my LIST. It reminds me to take a breath and laugh a bit at all my important plans.
As David Whyte (http://www NULL.davidwhyte NULL.com) says
“What you can plan is too small for you to live.
What you can live wholeheartedly will make plans enough
for the vitality hidden in your sleep.”
Anyway, here ’tis:
(The part that’s cut off says “Find Wonder in Beauty” and then down below--”Don’t be distracted by Quotidian details!”

I love that you shared this!
Thanks Meredyth!! He’s such a good reminder of another way to live- with pleasure, breath, and a sense of expanse and timelessness. I sometimes wonder where he came from.
You and Andrew are brightest shining star couples I am blessed to know. I love you both!
